Pete and partner Gary Oviatt started Woods & Oviatt in Cape Coral in January 1973 — "Baptism by Fire." They moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1981; Pete bought Gary out in 1985. MarineMax acquired the firm in 1998. In 2006 Pete launched Woods & Associates with his wife Anne and son Ryan, and said he had "been reincarnated."
